LLMO (Large Language Model Optimization)

LLMO (Large Language Model Optimization) is a synonym for GEO designating the specific optimization for large language models (LLMs). Both terms cover the same scope: making your brand and content citable by ChatGPT, Google AI, Perplexity and Claude.

Terminology: GEO, LLMO or AEO?

The market uses several terms to designate similar practices. GEO is the most widespread term, formalized by Princeton academic research in 2024. LLMO emphasizes LLMs specifically. AEO focuses on "answer engines". GSO encompasses the whole. In practice, these approaches converge toward the same techniques: Answer-First content, E-E-A-T, schema markup and Digital PR.
