Agentic Search

Agentic search is a new search paradigm where autonomous AI agents - like OpenAI Operator (launched in January 2026) - browse the web, compare options and accomplish tasks for the user without human intervention.

How agentic search differs from AI search

In classic AI search (ChatGPT, Perplexity), AI generates a response and the user decides what to do with it. In agentic search, the AI agent goes further: it compares prices, fills out forms, books services and makes decisions on behalf of the user. Structured content (price tables, technical specs, comparisons) becomes critical.

Impact on GEO

As agentic search develops, content with clear and machine-readable information will be favored: price tables, structured features, complete FAQs, and detailed schema markup. Brands that prepare their content for agentic search take the lead. To learn more, read our article OpenAI Operator and GEO.
